It has been three years since the first SARS-CoV-2 infection occurred in Slovenia on 4 March 2020. Since then, Slovenia has experienced several epidemic waves, affecting the entire country and all its inhabitants in one way or another. This time has been important for researching the impact and consequences of the pandemic on the individual and society as well as on the health system. The severity and the scope of the COVID-19 pandemic and the introduction of measures to prevent and limit the transmission of the infection have had a profound impact on the daily lives of all people in 2020 and 2021, including those not directly affected by the virus. The uncertain and long-lasting period of health and social crisis has led to a gradual exhaustion of compensatory mechanisms in humans, and thus to a lower success rate of measures to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection among the population.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on all areas of human life, both in Slovenia and around the world.
