In response, a water sample was collected from the building on the same day, 15 April. The results of microbiological testing, available on 16 April 2025, confirmed faecal contamination of the drinking water.

The contamination was found to be limited to the internal plumbing system of the Maximarket building (Trg republike 1, Ljubljana). As a precaution, an internal measure was issued prohibiting the use of drinking water for food-related purposes.
